2005 Cabernet Sauvignon

Our 2005 vintage Whalebone Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted exclusively from upper elevation sections of our Estate, selecting fruit from only those vines growing on the steepest slopes, and the rockiest portion of the vineyard. In this area, intense richness of fruit flavor, dense, supple tannins and deep pigmentation result from careful and consistent vineyard management. This wonderfully full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon is intensely fruit-driven, and evokes flavors of ripe raspberry and black cherry, with a smoky note of oak. In keeping with our desire to build harmony and depth into this wine, we blended in 7% Petite Sirah to give a rich, peppery fruit and spice note to the mid-palate, and to further elongate the finish.
